Hi,

I have spent a few months considering which parts to put in my Gaming PC and I have come up with this. I would really appreciate some advice.

1. I will be playing games like Battlefield 4 at 1080p but I would like to get at least 60FPS. How much should I be spending on a graphics card. Is the R9 290 a good/bad choice?

2. PC Part Picker says
TP-Link TL-WN781ND 802.11b/g/n PCI Wi-Fi Adapter and MSI Z87-GD65 Gaming ATX LGA1150 Motherboard are not compatible.
1 additional PCI slot is needed.
Please can someone explain the difference between all the different types of PCI slots to me! Why are they not compatible?

3. Do I need any special tools? I have plenty of screwdrivers and an anti-static mat. What else might I need?

Thanks for the quick response! What does it offer over the MSI and is it worth the extra £30?

Solution

This is a great build, but you might wanna go for a GTX 760 or 770 due to the fact that prices of the R9 series have risen a huge amount due to cryptocurrency mining.

I have read on multiple websites that the R9 290 is roughly equal to a GTX 780, but at the moment the 290 it is about £300 with the 780 about £400. Is that correct?

That's odd because on Amazon UK the R9 290 is £310 where as the GTX 780 is around £400 (which is too expensive for me.)
