Sooo one last question that I have seen multiple people ask but through multiple forums haven't seen a complete answer. After putting together whole rig except for card, I had to set it aside and now that I have spent the last two weeks researching video cards, just realized my mobo ( Asus Max Z IV) has pci express 2.0. Will there be any consequences running the 770 on the asus. I will eventually get a new mobo and put the 770 on it, so I don't want to regress to a 2.0 card which seems to be far away anyways. I also don't want to waste my time if it will have its performance hindered. Most of the questions just ask will it work and most people say yes. I don't want it just to work, I don't want to do it if it card will be seriously handicapped in that slot. I don't game seriously enough to replace the mobo, buy a new psu and buy a video card right now anyways.

It does nt matter while ur mobo is 2.0 or 3.0......the most important thing is ur pci-e slot should be multiple of x16....difference between of both slits is only 1%....ddr5 cards who have 3.0 will fit on 2.0 also....it works for sure...cos i have 2.0x16 type slot....my card has 3.0 chipset...so dnt wry buddy....definetly there is no problem...i damm sure buddy
