usb adapter and pci adapter not working

i been trying to make my desktop wireless bought a usb wifi adapter to do that didnt work so thought it may be faulty got another also the same then i got a pci network adapter and that didnt even work so now imm clueless all the drivers were up to date and i made sure to enable the adapter in adapter settings tried a different pci slot can anyone help any ideas wht it could be?

yea what happens is that the adapter installs but when i go to try to connect i would click it and then it would just say not connected-no connections available also it is compatible with the windows i am using and right now i just checked the status of the network adapter which it says ipv4 connectivity--not connected and ipv6 connectivity not connected...and yes i did try to update the drivers and it says its up to date...and i checked if the adapter works on another computer which it does im not very tech savvy so forgive me if im a little slow.

What are you using to manage the adapter? Windows or a utility from the card maker? Did you just check the drivers from Windows or did you go to the vendor support site? Check the support site if you did not already.

Do you have the wifi status bars in the system try by the clock?
