Building my first ever computer with a custom water loop and and stuck on which motherboard to use that would be best with the i7 4770k and the Geforce GTX 780 ti. I do plan on doing overclocking and might want SLI in the future. Budget for motherboard being $250 possibly $300

I see a around 40% negative reviews on that board though. I figure since the entire build is going to be over 2,000 i want to get a very nice motherboard with durability

My question is the reliability of the board because all those negative 1 star reviews have me worried especially this being my first build

Biggest differences between the Formula and the Hero are the water block and the Rog Armor, might look at the Hero, which would be great for what you have in mind, mines in my sig

I'm in a similar situation, I recently bought a maximus VI extreme and I was wandering if I could fit 2 gtx 780 ti cards on. Couple them with an i7 and 32 ram. It's also my first proper build.

Yes, the Formula will take them easily, make sure you have room in the case, my 780's required removing a drive cage from the length of the cards

You can consider msi z97 gaming 7.

My friend bought that board a week ago, he said that is great.

And it has your requirement SLI.

It’s just a suggest, give you more choose.

For QC I rate them about with BioStar - i.e. mobos I won't waste time building on ;)
