cpu upgrade for gaming

I currently have a intel g840 in a ASRock extreme 3 gen 3 board 8gb of ddr3 1600mhz memory and a EVGA 460 and its not enough to keep up with games like empire total war and rome total war 2. im thinking of putting a 3770k any thoughts or ideas?

Go ahead your money lol. In just gaming tho the 3770k is not really that much better over the 3570k. The 460 is older but should play games fine a cpu upgrade would help. If ur not going to overclock and want the i7 performance for the i5 get the xeon 1230 v2, its a 3.3ghz i7 with no igpu its usuall $230. But a i5 will most likely be best upgrade for u for strictly gaming
