I have a toshiba satellite A505 that isn't working right. At first all the lights would come on but the screen would stay black. When I remove a stick of RAM from the top slot it will turn on, BIOS will load, but after that when the screen the blinking underscore comes on it freezes, before the underscore can even start blinking. It does this with one stick of ram (in the bottom slot) My question is whether this is a motherboard problem or a BIOS problem. I would tend to think that its the mobo since it only works with the one stick of RAM, no matter which RAM stick it is.
