Solution
Windows 7,8 can't be installed on a USB or firewire drive. But you can create a bootable FlashDrive with some lite version of windows XP. Still it won't server your purpose.

You can use a PC running Windows 8 to set up a bootable Pen drive for use with your Extensa provided the Extensa has the capability to boot from USB device (Check it's BIOS)
However, you can only set it up to boot from Linux, as far as I know it's not possible to install Windows to an external drive.
You would need to download a Linux ISO and then use YUMI to set up your drive.
Ubuntu Desktop should suit...

Once you've downloaded your ISO use YUMI to set up your Pen drive

Please read the query carefully he wants a "Windows 8" setup on flash drive. Not Linux.
Which is not possible on any of Flash or Firewire drive as Windows setup will refuse to install on them.
No matter your Mobo or Flash drive at able to handle a USB-FDD,USB-HDD boot up.
