Hi, I wanted to upgrade my Galaxy 650ti to a Msi 7870 OC. And I would like to see a pretty big difference and would not like to spend more than 200 dollars. And the 7870 seems good, but is it worth it or will I not see the difference between the 650ti and the 7870. Thanks.

Its just a minor performance increment approx 10%. Go for nothing less than GTX 770 or R9 280X if you want a stubble performance increment.

10% ? Really ? Do u Even Know How A GPU Works ? Lol

And 770, 280x Are 400$ Cards

Twice The Price Of 7870 :v

Not Everyone Have Tons Of Cash To Shell Out

Please ... Atleast Suggest Something Relevant

http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gaming-graphics-card-review,3107-7.html

Well i even know how GPU works at microscopic state :p And been using them from time of RIVA TNT and Rage.

Everything you are mention is about performance are derived from theoretical aspects.
Check the hierarchy chart 650Ti and 7870 differ only by a tier. (Which is derived from practical results or benchmarks at Tom's)

As stated in review:

"You can use this hierarchy to compare the pricing between two cards, to see which one is a better deal, and also to determine if an upgrade is worthwhile. I don’t recommend upgrading your graphics card unless the replacement card is at least three tiers higher. Otherwise, the upgrade is somewhat parallel, and you may not even notice any worthwhile difference in performance."

So you better mind your language or just report "Toms Hardware" too that "Do they do know anything about GPU"

Tough that thing costs $$ more but you are not seeing wasting 200$ just for performance roughly equivalent to your card.

(But it has to be clear that what i am comparing it with 650Ti Boost not conventional 650Ti,the worst ever naming bizarre by Nvidia)

If the guy has a conventional 650Ti then "7870 IS SURELY A GOOD UPGRADE" You can expect 1.5x to 2x performance increment.

That's Just What I Said :kaola:

He Can Get 2x Performance Nearly http://www.hwcompare.com/13631/geforce-gtx-650-ti-vs-radeon-hd-7870/

And Pardon Me, For My Rough Language :hihi:

No.. you wont. It is faster, but not by that much. You cant compare specs of different architectures in that way.

By Faster .. u Wont Find 2x Frame Rate Increase

Maybe 15 ~ 20 Frams Increase

By Faster I Mean It Performs Well With Future Games Than A 650 Ti Can Ever Will

...not 2x performance then is it.

Please only post information based on Facts, not what you "think".

I Never Said I THINK

If U Fail At Reading Then Clearly Its Not My Problem

The Only Real Way To Compare 2 Cards Is Using The FPS Benchmarks (Cause Of Different Architectures)

If U Want 2x Increase In FPS .. Get Ready To Shell Out Some Serious Money

And Please Shut The Hell Up If u Dunno What Ur Talking

As The khicharkumar Says ... 7870 Is 3 Tires A Head Of 650 Ti And That Gives A Significant Performance Boost (Approx 2x) Over 650 Ti

Dont Believe Me ? Then Go Google Urself And See

LMAO :D
That's so true they are erroneously priced, due to high exercise duty and service tax on all electronic items. For example a GTX 660 which retails from 200-250 $ here it goes from 350-400 $. How the hell can anybody decide.

@TrollHunter, yep the Radeon 7870 is above conventional 650Ti.
The performance gains ranges from 1.2x to 1.8x the old benchmarks from the release of GTX 650Ti (minimum difference in taxing titles like Crysis 3 and quite more is rest of games). That is comparable to GTX 660 which is little above 200 USD.
