Hey,

I have a Dell precision T1500 with a standard motherboard (1x PCI-e X16 and 1x PCI-e X1 slots)
Currently, in the x16 slot, I have an NVidia NVS295 graphics card powering my 2 displays.

Question is: Can I put in a PCI-e X1 card and along side this or is there any other way that I can extend to a 3rd display? I don't want to buy another GPU at the moment - not for this PC anyways!

Cheers

Depending on what you want to do with that desktop, you could get a USB to DVI adapter. They work alright, but they aren't real fast. They're OK for desktop work, but not very good at fast changing images like movies.

Something like this:

USB2DVI Adapter

I worked for a oil field service company and we used them for multiple displays.

Just want the extra screen space of a 3rd monitor.
So if I get an old x1 card and stick it into the slot I should be fine then?

Is there a way to enable to VGA port on the mobo which might also do the trick?

Hey,

When I go into the BIOS and Select: Advanced Chipset Features>Initiate Graphic Adapter...

I can select from the following:
IGD
PCI/IGD
PCI/PEG
PEG/IGD
PEG/PCI

Given these options, I assume that I can't run this as the PCI express (PEG) card will be picked up before the Integrated (IGD).

Is there another way to do this then? Be heaps handy to have the extra screen
