I have a 4x4gb corsair vengeance cmz16gx3m4a1600c9 kit installed in my setup but I ran memtest and two of the sticks are dead. I was wondering if I can buy 2 8gb sticks and throw that in there with them, if I need to throw the whole 4 x 4gb kit out since 2 of them are kaput, or if I need to do something else that I am currently unaware of. Thanks in advance!

I would find it very unusual for two stick of ram to fail at the same time.
Unless they were manually overclocked, or over vol-ted .

You would get errors at the same time for example if for the frequency Ie: 800 Mhz x 2 =1600Mhz if the timings were not set right and the voltage via the Xmp profile selected in the bios of the board.

When you look up memory and its mode number CAS 9-9-9-24 is the setting for 1600Mhz.
States for stable operation 1.5v to 1.6v.
If under volted and timings are wrong you will get errors based on a speed of 1600Mhz.

Check the Xmp voltage setting and if the memory is throwing errors up it in Mv if the board supports the option.

Unfortunately I do not have a screen shot and I just ordered it off newegg everything is standard nothing overclocked or anything
I've seen BSOD more time than I can count the since I installed them, I believe the 2 sticks might just be DOA

List the cpu used and it gen version if an intel.
Or the Amd cpu and its model.
Along with the motherboard brand name and model number used.

If you have not already checked based on the board model brand and model number check for a bios firmware update. Bios updates provide the ability to support more ram module types, and memory frequency's. for stability. As well as supporting new models of cpu in the range the board takes.

They can often resolve stability problems like you are having with the ram, I say this because I find it hard that two ram sticks would fail at the exact same time.

Ok, First of all the memory QVL shows no reference to the corsair memory stick numbers as working right with the board.

It is based on the timings and the overall population and density of each ram module.
You have 4x4 or 16gb in four populated slots.

So it say to me its more of a case the board is throwing the memory errors due to none support of the ram type and modules.

If it has always been the case since you fitted the memory, you have had errors from day one or blue screens or crashes/ freezing.

Of course I take it Xmp mode is enabled in the bios.
and the timings of 9-9-9-24 are selected with 1.5v to 1.6 range, as I said an under volt will cause the memory to error when put under load. or mem tested.
