Hi
I'm having problems with the UAC in Windows 7.
Whenever I try to give access to a program ie; updating iTunes for instance - the UAC dialogue box comes up, but the cursor goes up to the top right corner and doesn't let me allow it.
I've tried disabling the UAC but when the dialogue box comes up to make the change - you can guess where the cursor ends up!
I've tried everything I can think of including system restore, but nothing works - any ideas?

If it is your own home Pc, and you are an Admin as a user.
Click Start, click Run, type regedit, and then click Enter.

If prompted to enter your credentials by UAC, do so and/or press Yes to continue.

Navigate to the following registry subkey:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System

locate the EnableLUA key (REG_DWORD type).

Click modify, and set the vaue in the box to 0.

Click ok, restart the pc and Uac will be completely disabled.

To enable it again follow the steps above replacing the 0 with a 1.

Hi Shaun,

Thanks for the prompt reply.

I did as instructed but as soon as I clicked enter after typing regedit - the UAC dialogue box came up and guess where the cursor went ???

Up in the top right corner again...

The problem then is; I can't do anything other than turn the power off (not ideal) and restart the pc - I can't even use the touch screen because nothing works..

My system is an Acer Aspire Z3751 / Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit / 4GB DDR3 Memory / 1TB Hard Drive

Thanks again
