So i had a little trouble wit the computer i just assembled, originally i couldn't do anything because no hard drives would recognize, well, recently, i have come to find out that the reason for all of this, is because my hotswap bay's arent being recognized for some reason, which is a huge bummer, so, i have ahci enabled, im running a MSI 970A-G46 and a thermaltake gt 10 snow edition, anyone have an ideas on what might be the problem? As a note, the drive with windows on it is a 3 TB drive, which apparently is causing massive problems.

Solution
Wait...so if you connect the HDD to the motherboard and use the same molex connector with a SATA power cable attachment, it works, and if you connect the same molex to a hotswap bay, with the same data connector, it fails to spin up. If i have that right then obviously the hotswap is defective.

in order.

1. Yea im 1000% sure they're connected,i connected the only sata cable on the case to sata port 1, just in case, and connected the only power molex for the case, to one of the main feeds from the PSU, still will not work.

2. The drives do not spin when i insert them.

If the drive isnt spinning up, its the drive or its power, can you try it with another computer or try a different molex connector or PSU. Molexes are notorious for dodgy connections. First i would try another molex and really push that sucker in.

i really thought this was true at first, but the drive has windows on it, and if directly connected to the Mobo, it works just fine, and i've tried about 4 different PSU molexes
