Crossfiring HD 4850

Hello there. I was orginally planning to get a new card (GTX 760, GTX 660, R9 270) but I noticed that the HD 4850x2 is three tiers above a single HD 4850. If I can grab a HD 4850 for less than 1/3 the price of a R9 270/GTX 660 and CF, will it be worth it? Would it be as good as the HD 4850x2 card? Or would just turn into a money pit? I am already aware of CF problems especially with an old card like mine that has minimum driver support.

I wouldn't do it. Unless the card is like 50 bucks or something equally cheap. Same reason I haven't xfired my 6870. Also I need more vram. No use through power at a system thats held back by vram.

Both the card I have and the one available are 1 GB my and monitor native resolution is 1280x1024

Ah then I'd probably grab another 4850 and a monitor. Going from a 17"-19" monitor to a widescreen (possibly ips) 23-24" monitor @ 1080 is quite nice.
