Can I upgrade this desktop for better performance?

So I have a mid-ranged HP pavilion desktop HPE-137c and am considering upgrading instead of purchasing new

I have so far replaced the power supply with a 500w and the graphics card with an older radeon hd 5770

specs:
CPU - intel core 2 quad 2.5GHz
Graphics - Radeon HD 5770
RAM - 8GB (maxed out)

I am aware that I need another Graphics card, more specifically I would like to know if it is possible to upgrade my processor. The system has a Eureka3 motherboard (IPIEL-LA3)

You could upgrade to a Q9450, Q9550, or Q9650 but as they start used at $80 USD they are not worth the slight performance increase you would obtain. But yes, it is possible to upgrade your processor.
