I have recently replaced the RAM and installed an nVidia 210 gpu to my Inspiron 530s. I'm pretty sure the BIOS is locked. I'd like to know if it's possible to overclock the E2180 Intel processor that comes with it.
The actual CPU's case has been replaced with a different one, no idea how would I go about finding it's model out (no indication on it except an "M cab series") or even if it's relevant to what I'm doing,
I've read that I'll need a modded BIOS. I'd only like to do it if it is only software tweaking and nothing to do with hardware tinkering.
Here's all the information you will need about the PC-

Hi there!

As almost anyone on Toms will tell you, overclocking a Dell is not possible as Dell like to lock their bios to prevent such tampering. It is possible to flash the bios but doing so is quite risky and can leave you with no PC at all so my honest advice would be to leave well alone. Sorry to bring bad news but I'd feel terrible if I encouraged someone to do something I was certain would kill their computer.
