Have a Dell 8300 - Win 7 Ultimate 64 bit - i7 -3.40 Ghz processor - 8 Ghz ram - trying to install a Toshiba 3tb HDD as a secondary (2nd) non-boot drive...the AO6 bios recognizes the full 3Tb drive and so does the Intel Storage Controller at 2+ TB. I can't get it above 746 Gb...what am I doing wrong?

older bios have a 2tb limit. see if there a speical jumper that make the drive into two smaller 1.5g drivers or try formating if you can to two drives.

I'm not sure how to partition the 3TB HDD into separate units with it currently showing a basic drive of 764 GB in storage management...as far as I can determine this Toshiba DT01ACA300 3TB doesn't have any optional bridging for external pin adjustments... Can you walk me through this process of configuring the 3TB HDD into n2 or more partitions? I would appreciate any help you could provide. This HDD addition is to be a secondary internal drive for backup data only...not a boot drive.
