Hey everyone, I am reformatting my Windows 7 64 bit OS. Well I want to, but I have a problem. My motherboard (H77 pro/mvp4) is missing its installation CD. I want to reformat but fear if I dont have my MOBO cd I will have a useless, reformatted computer. Does anyone know if you actually need the Cd for your computer to run?

On a side note, the only CD I did download from the motherboard's box was a overclock helper that helped me see my Ghz and adjust it.

Thanks!

You don't need the motherboard CD. You can download all of the drivers from the motherboard manufacturer's web site and put them on a usb thumb drive, CD or DVD. Make sure you get the chipset, LAN, audio, SATA, USB, wifi, bluetooth, and any other drivers that apply to your mobo.

I would suggest upgrading the BIOS to the latest release for your motherboard prior to re-installing and make sure the disk mode set for your disk controllers is AHCI in the BIOS.

Once the OS is installed, install the drivers in the order listed above from the thumb drive or disk. Then download the video drivers for your video solution and you should be good to go.

The CD is not needed, because in order to install the drivers it contains, Windows must be running. To solve this problem, go find your product on the manufacturers website and download the drivers. Go ahead and do the reinstall, the tell me if you have a problem! Hope this solves your question!

Hey sorry I just got back...I actually have no idea if I have updated my drivers for MOBA along with my sound and those listed above. I honestly just installed it, put my other parts in and it ran fine. The only thing I downloaded was the Ghz display/changer. Also, the Asrock website is an absolute trainwreck to navigate and I have no idea what one is a good/safe to download.

Hey thanks for the respone, I have a solid place to download...if I could. I reformatted and now my Ethernet driver is apparently out of date? It is very annoying because to update it I need to connect to the internet...which I can't since ethernet driver won't connect with the cable...

Do you own another PC? You could take a USB stick, download the files, drag them onto it, then drag them to your other computer for the install!
