After my last post about this issue
http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/answers/id-2034497/nvidia-geforce-gtx760-detected-installation.html
I sent back the graphics card and got a new one but after I installed it I have exactly the same problem.

I have uninstalled the onboard Intel graphics driver then inserted the card in the PCIe slot and connected the PCIe power cables from my PSU. On the card there is a 6 and 8 pin power supply connections. All the connections from my PSU are 6 pin with a separate 2 pin on each. So I connected one 6 pin and one 6+2 pin to the card. The card is plugged into the PCIE2 slot on the MB. The slot is PCIe 3.0 x16.

I rebooted then went into the bios and set primary graphics adaptor to PCIe. However when I go to bios system broswer the PCIE2 slot is showing up as empty. I started Windows 7 then tried to install the driver but got the message compatible hardware unavailable.

I dont know what I am doing wrong. Could my motherboard be damaged or need an update or something? Any help would be greatly appreciated as I have been without my second monitor for over a year. Please help..

HERE IS MY LAST POST.......

Hi all, after my previous post was unresolved I bought a graphics card http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/answers/id-1721000/dual-m....
Anyway It came today, I carefully handled and installed it onto the motherboard (asrock z77 etreme6) following instructions in manual. I am sure it is all correct but after I booted up the computer there is no sign of the card. Checked and rechecked that it is seated correctly and it is. On the instructions for installation it says...

Problem: The integrated video adapter has not been disabled prior to installing the new graphics card, and/or the
previous adapter’s drivers have not been properly uninstalled.
Cause: The integrated video adapter has not been disabled prior to installing the new graphics card and/or not
having uninstalled the display drivers from your previous display adapter.
Solution: Ensure the integrated video adapter has been disabled through your motherboard’s BIOS or the
Windows Device Manager prior to installing the new graphics card, and that you have uninstalled the drivers
through the Windows Control Panel. After the new card has been installed, connect the monitor cable and if
required, any supplemental power adapters to the new card before booting up the system.

As far as I know the motherboard doesn't have integrated graphics just the processor which is intell graphics. Does this need to be disabled first?

Apart from that I am lost to know what is wrong..

Any help would be great guys!

Thanks,

Tony

UPDATE....

Hi, I disabled the integrated intel graphics and changed it into another PCI slot (both 3.0) rebooted and still nothing... Also fan on graphics card is running so it has power. Checked the uefi setup utility and PCI slots are showing up as empty even though the card is seated properly and has power. Checked with other slot and same thing. I also set the PCI slot as primary VGA in the bios and still nothing. Am I missing something or shall I take it that this is a defective or damaged card and return it??

Any thoughts at all?

Also just to give more background on my set-up...

Even if everything is configured wrong, no drivers, etc, the card should at least show up.
So basically it can be one of two things, the MB or the PSU. If you have tried another PCIE slot and still no luck, it is most likely not the MB (especially if you had another card that worked).
It's a PITA but you're going to have to try another PSU. The fact that the fan spins up doesn't really tell us anything because it will get enough power for that from the PCIE slot.
If you don't have another PSU to check it with, you can take a different set of 6 and 6+2 cables, plug them into a different PCIE power connector on the PSU, and try that. It is entirely possible for either the cable, or the connector, to be not working.

I'll try swapping the cables, the PSU is not modular so I guess I can only try one of the other cables. I'll try swapping it into a different PCIE slot too and see how that goes. Just my luck. Its so frustrating : (

Well well I was banging my head against the wall after trying to jig the four PCIE power cables from my PSU around in different combinations and switched PCIE slots too but got no joy at all. So just before I gave up I decided to try one of the connector things that came with the GPU, the 2 Molex type to the 6 pin PCIE and plugged in 2 spare Molex and used a 6+2 pin PCIE power connector too and hey presto it seems to be working. Just downloading latest driver as I deleted the last one I downloaded after losing all hope. It is showing up in the bios so all looking good.

So by that do you think that is definitely my PSU specifically the PCIe connectors. Although one of them is still plugged in. Can it work with just the 2 moloex to 6pin PCIE connector? Would you suggest I try all the PCIe connectors to see if just one or more is dodgy?

Anyway Big up to Deuce65 for pointing me in the right direction, its all working and I don't think I am ever going to need those other PCIE connections anyway. If the PSU is at fault it will do for now. Thanks again Deuce65.

Looks good.
Yea you will probably eventually want to to replace the PSU because who knows what else may be wrong with it but it should function the way you have it plugged in fine. Using the molex adapter things is fine.
