Hello everyone, so recently I have made the decision to upgrade my PC with a GTX 770. I can easily afford the 4gb version, but is it worth the extra money?
I have read else where that the only time a 4gb version matters is if you plan on going dual screen....which I do not.

So should I spend the extra amount on the 4gb, or settle with the 2gb if all I plan on doing is gaming?

Yes that would be fine. I am running two 780's in SLI on a Corsair 760i and only pull 575W max with a high overclock. And that's total system usage with an overclocked 4770K at 4.3GHz.

Also, you should be just fine at 2GB with a single monitor.

I'm just concerned about the life time of the card and what I will need as the years progress. I've read that the 780 is only relevant if I went the ti route....but that is more than I wish to spend.

I only mentioned the 780 in reference to it's power consumption to illustrate that you would be more than ok using a 750W PSU for a 770 SLI. The 780s I use have been dreamy. It is still considered one of the better top-end cards out there from a price/performance standpoint since they dropped the price to around $500.

If you went for a 770 SLI, I think you would be pretty darn happy with them. Even without any overclocking, they would give you exceptional frames at ultra settings for current games and would likely still be a very viable option over the next few years.
