I'm wondering if it's possible to Crossfire a Radeon HD 7790 and an R7 260x as the title suggests. I know they are very similar, so I would assume they would be able to Crossfire. Obviously I would only be able to use the 1GB or VRAM, but still, I think it would be convenient. There have been a couple other posts about this, but they haven't thoroughly explained it. If anyone is willing to answer, I'm willing to listen :).

Use the same driver, Catalyst 14.2 Beta http://support.amd.com/en-us/kb-articles/Pages/latest-catalyst-windows-beta.aspx

What you'll need to do is uninstall your current 7790 with Catalyst Control Center Uninstaller from Programs & Features, run Display Driver Uninstaller to wipe away all traces, shut down, install your new 260X as the primary (first) graphics card then the 7790 as the linked adapter (second card), hook up the Crossfire interconnect, boot up and install Catalyst 14.2!

Nope. Both 1GB models from XFX (ZNF4 and ZNJF) have no CrossFire connector.

Since the 260X have this new AMD "xDMA" technology of "Crossfire via PCIe bus", some cards may not have the bridge connector.
