Is this prebuilt good for htpc?

The new m73 Tiny from Lenovo can be configured as follows:

Celeron G1620T,
Hybrid 500 GB hard drive with 8 GB solid-state storage
4 GB RAM
Windows 8.1

No optical drive, keyboard, mouse.

Cost: $164

Seems like a no-brainer; however, will it perform a job as an htpc, mainly for streaming movies/videos (youtube, Netflix, Hulu), music and some surfing the web as needed. One thing that does concern me is the possible noise level.

Upgrading to a i3-4130T increases the price to $281.

Thanks.

Yes, that will work for an HTPC, but upgrading to the i3 will be well worth the money if you want some more speed. Noise level will be very low with the Celeron, as well as the i3. The T at the end of the processor number means that it has ultra low power usage, which makes for low noise. If you are really concerned about it being totally silent, consider switching for an SSD and a fanless CPU cooler, but for the money, that is a reasonable HTPC build for your purposes.

Does a Pentium add anything to graphics, or is it mainly additional processing power (and extra inbuilt cache)?

Thanks all!

I think I waited too long and many options disappeared on me. They probably put up that configuration by mistake. If one thinks about it, $164 is probably less than the cost of the parts themselves, even for Lenovo.

Now it is a more reasonable $350 for a configuration without an optical drive, and with no options for anything less than a i3-4130T. However, for that money, I would rather build my own.
