Hey all

I'm currently running a friend's old gigabyte radeon hd 5850 in my desktop, and it has some issues. The fan is broken and needs to be manually set, so it started overheating a lot, and after I updated to 8.1 the drivers started crashing a shitload even at low temps. Its gotten to the point where I can't even run a fullscreen VLC without it crashing out, I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling drivers for days, and have even taken it out and removed as much dust as I could to no success. It's was a great card, but its pretty old now and just not worth it.

My setup right now is a
600 watt PSU (http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817153166&nm_mc=KNC-GoogleAdwordsCA&cm_mmc=KNC-GoogleAdwordsCA-_-pla-_-Power+Supplies-_-N82E16817153166&ef_id=UxjfxwAAAHmSExSE:20140306220252:s)
8gb ram,
AMD Phenom ii x4 965
and a viewsonic vx2433 (1080p)

I'm looking to see what would be the best graphics card for this setup preferably under 250, but if it'll last beyond my next round upgrades I might be willing to splurge to 300.

Right now I was looking at the ASUS, MSI or Gigabyte gtx 760, or a 660 based on bottle-necking concerns. I'm mainly using this for newer games as well, so it would great to be able to keep up my frames with high settings.
