Weird CPU issue - won't post until...

I have an Intel i7-4770K which I got this past December set up with a Z87 mobo.

Every once in a while I'll come home - or wake up in the morning - and find that it's off. Turning it on, it won't post, with the CPU light being red.

If I pull the PSU power cord or flip the switch off and then back on, it forgets the CPU Fan speed setting and does a goofy start/restart a couple times before going into the bios where I tell it to ignore the low fan speed and then everything is fine and back to normal.

I'm currently on this machine typing this, and I do quite a lot of gaming without any issues or temperature problems. Not OC'd in any way. Aftermarket fan/heatsink though.

Anyone else encounter anything like this?

Have you checked to see if there is a BIOS update available for your motherboard? Have you also checked to see if there is an option to fix the fan speed at a certain RPM (e.g. 2500 RPM) so that way the computer will not toss up a message saying that the fan speed is too low AND have you also tried swapping out the CPU with another one? Are you OC'ing? Have you also tried swapping out the PSU for a higher wattage PSU? Don't forget to see if the BIOS battery is going dead.
