Hi
We used to be able to drive 6 outputs from a Graphics card eg 7970 (4xDP and 2x DVI).
Since the new R9 series manufacturers have moved away from 6 outputs to most commonly 2xDVI, HDMI and 1xDP. It's very hard to find a Graphics card with either 2xDP or 2x Mini DP (then using 2xMST Hubs to create 6 outputs. Can anyone offer any insight as to why things are moving backwards?
Thanks

No I mean the feature of having six outputs wasn't selling cards so they cut costs on the next gen by removing them. there aren't any 7970 left hardly for two reasons. The first reason is that it is a last gen card that has been depreciated. (the r9 280 replaced I believe) the second is it proved pretty good at bitcoin mining which made all of AMD's cards prices go up and availability plummet

But the infrastructure is on-board. The reference cards support 6 displays, they have just reduced the options. The sooner this bitcoin fad is over the better.

I agree with you this bitcoin thing has been causing all sorts of problems.
