Alright, so I tried hooking up a computer to a TV through VGA. The computer itself is a HP Pavillion, 3GB ram, Windows Vista. The TV is a small Dynex flatscreen.

I wish I could give you exact specifications on the computer, but I cant get that information because of my problem.

So I started by hooking everything up, hooked the tv and tower together via VGA. I go to turn it on and it starts emitting a beep signal. I search up the beep code list on the HP website, turns out it's a memory problem. I trouble shoot the RAM stick (take one out, tried it again. Took another out, tried it again) and pin-pointed the stick that was giving me issues. Took it out, plugged everything back in and went to try it again.

No more beeping this time and everything starts up normal, but now the TV isn't detecting a signal from the the tower. I have it hooked up through VGA and have the TV set on VGA input, but no dice.

I should mention that I put a video card in the PC (again, I don't remember what it is. It's been a while since I've used this PC and I don't remember the kind of card).

First I tried plugging the VGA into the video card VGA port, and it would start up and not detect a signal.

I then tried plugging the VGA into the on-board VGA port, and then it started beeping again the same memory code...

I have no idea what's going on. It's only been 1 or 2 months since this PC was last being used regularly.

Oh, I should have mentioned that all the fans fire up correctly, so I don't think it could be a power supply issue. Literately a couple months ago it was working flawlessly. I had it stored all unplugged.

This may seem stupid, but could cleaning the dust away possibly do anything?
