it's incompatible with an i5 or any of intel's CPU. you currently own an AMD FM2 socket motherboard with an A75 chipset. you're looking for a new socket 1150 motherboard with a Z87 chipset if you're getting a 4670K and overclocking, or a B85/H87 chipset if you're not (and maybe get a cheaper non-K i5 then).

a CPU upgrade to a ~$220 i5-4670K will mean spending extra on a new $90+ motherboard as well. cheaper than that if you're not overclocking.

in case you're not aware, you'd also be looking to buy a new motherboard as well along with that i5. if you're going to cheap out there and not get a Z87, may as well cheap out on the CPU as well and get something like an i5-4440.

Arma3 understandably requires a good CPU to run smoothly (badly optimized and all that). not sure of the rest. unless you're playing at 1080p and maxing every graphics settings out, most games should run quite nicely at medium with a 7770 at 1600x900 or lower. a RAM upgrade should follow suit before a GPU upgrade.

And do GPU's have this same "Rule"? or in the future can I throw in a GTX or must I stick with the Radeon GPUs?

no, nothing like that. hardware-wise, as long as it has a PCIe slot and GPUs still use them you're good to go. your only issue switching between AMD and Nvidia is to make sure you uninstall and install the right drivers.

I have updated from a phenom II X4 Black E. to a I5 4670K and the change was very good, you will need to buy a motherboard, the processor, and memory, if you dont have enough money to buy all of it, keep saving for that

I've been interested in ARMA3 for a bit now and was first gonna upgrade my Dell inspiron 570 with a AMD phenom 2 x4 black and a new graphics and whole lot of cpu cooling, because the phenom 2s get very hot. And plus ARMA3 seems to prefer intel over amd. So I decided to just build from scratch. Ordered me a Viotek Black ATX Mid Tower Gaming Computer Case W/ 120MM & 80MM RED LED, USB 3.0 for under $50, then New Asus GRYPHON Z97 motherboard and It looks like I,m gonna go with the Intel 4670K 3.4 GHz Quad-Core do to it's clocking capabilities on that mobo. Havent decided on what gpu I'm gonna run with it at this time yet
