I dont know a lot about computers which is why i created this thread. Any help or suggestions will be really helpful.

heres my current set up

Processor: AMD FX(tm)-6100 Six-Core Processor 3.30 GHz

RAM: 8 GB

GPU: AMD Radeon HD 6670

motherboard: Asrock n68-vs3 fx

700w power supply
what do i need to upgrade the most and what products do you recommend?
if i upgrade my graphics card will my cpu or motherboard be holding me back, or anything else for that mater??

Id like to be able to play pretty much any game in high to ultra with decent stable fps.

thanks guys

Changing cpu does not effect ur files or windows install only the motherboard change does.

U can definitely overclock but that motherboard is not the best for it so prob only go for maybe 3.6ghz to be safe with a good aftermarket cooler or at least not stock (Zalman cnps 5x or CM TX3) and ur psu model does matter.

Since u have a 700watt psu not sure on brand at the moment as u didnt post it, it should handle a 760 no problem with everything u have. Surely a 760gtx would be best or go for tthe 750 ti or low power consumption and performance or the 260x is competitive against the 750 ti. With AMD higher end cards being overpriced there really is not anything that competes with the 760 gtx or 750 ti in the price range. I mean a gtx 770...
a gpu upgrade will be more beneficial than a cpu and the cpu is not the best it will get u by until u can upgrade that. The 6100 performs around the Phenom II in multithread and dont remember anymore but i think worse in single thread performance, but matters on ur budget but Best bang for ur buck on the gpu side would be the gtx 760, and cpu side would be the fx 6300 or if u can find one the fx 8300 must be a 95watt cpu unless u wanna upgrade ur board to one that takes 125watt cpus, then u can get a fx 8320 for $130 on sale every so often last time i seen then at that price was when i got mine at the end of december and around black friday.

Depending on how much money you are willing to spend, I would suggest from my own experience and from personal opinions that you should upgrade the Motherboard (If you want to Overclock), the CPU, GPU and PSU. (If you want ultra settings with 60FPS + more.

Motherboard: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128651
CPU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819113286
GPU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127745
PSU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817207015

Don't hold back on the PSU, especially if overclocking. Also if you go for the GTX 760 2GB OC Edition, I would also not slack on the PSU.

One more thing, also get this if you want to overclock higher than 4.0Ghz (Unless your case has 4/5 built in fans):

If you opt to do this you will be completely future proof for the next few years :)

EDIT: If you are afraid of losing files, just back up the important things. Changing what I mentioned won't make you lost any files anyway.

I mean a gtx 770 goes for $340 and the closest Amd card the 280x is slightly worse but costs usually $430-500
