found this. hold down all of the key combination you're having issues with, simultaneously. if it's not registering, then it's a ghosting issue. I just found out my "-" key isn't registering, despite it being a "gaming" keyboard with anti-ghosting, supporting my earlier assumption that not all keys and keyboards are equal.

if it's not registering, as i mentioned earlier, a keyboard with a nkro/anti-ghosting features are really the only solution.

try this; while holding down BOTH shift keys, type this: THE QUICK BROWN FOX JUMPS OVER THE LAZY DOG

if you get nothing like the above, then you are experiencing key jamming or ghosting, usually present in cheap keyboards.

not at all aware of any software solution to this though. so your best bet here is to get a better keyboard with NKRO or anti-ghosting features, usually marketed as gaming keyboards.

EDIT: my bad. missed you mentioning the test.

EDIT2: i'm stumped. what you're describing is highly similar, and highly likely a key jamming/ghosting issue (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rollover_(key)#Key_jamming_and_ghosting) . only thing i can think of is this; your laptop's a mainstream laptop, which in most cases comes with a keyboard with poor key rollover. though just as some Razer gaming laptops still comes with poor key rollover, some mainstream laptops would still come with a sub-par keyboard that at least by passed this famous test, but doesn't perform as well in gaming. even the enthusiasts' favourite Thinkpads aren't safe; http://4chandata.org/g/Hold-both-shift-keys-Type-The-quick-brown-fox-jumps-over-the-lazy-dogThen-post-your-keyboard-THE-QUICK-BROWN-FOX-JUMPS-OVER-THE-LA-a477420
