Hello! I need help with this problem i started having since i got my GTX 760.
I upgraded from an HD 7770 which used to record games using Action! at 60 fps.
I upgraded to get better performance and better looking games, but for some reason, even at the same settings, the GTX 760 cant record at 60 FPS. whenever i try to record, my fps dips 60- and its horrible.
Im using the same exact system i used with the HD 7770 so i dont know what the problem is.
However, when i dont record, it works like a charm and how amazing it is supposed to be working with no problems at all.
So, i have no idea why this problem is happening to me.
( On a side note, i did set Nvidia control pannel power usage to prefer maximum settings still facing the same problem and that did not work. And also, for some reason my GPU randomly dips to base clock sometimes as i monitor it with Afterburn i notice it drops to base clock mid games at points resulting in lower FPS.)
Thank you for reading and taking your time to help! Good Day!
-Alex.

Solution
alt tab or ctrl alt del and open task manager.
under the process tab look for the applications you need. (the games.exe file, screncapsoftwares.exe) and right click on them you should see set affinity. click it and you will be given a list of available cores uncheck the last 2 for the game.exe apply. now do the same for the screen cap software exe but this time uncheck all bar the last 2 apply and your done. alt tab back into the game
set the gpu to stock and try it. remove any factory oc...
the reality of the current cards is that they seem to be prone to throttle.
also overclocking can have very mixed results even with factory oc's some games just dont like them and wont give any performance gains. so much so in some cases will actually impede performance.
set your nvidia control panel back to default. disable any associated game profile and run the game.
while its running set the games affinity to run off the first 2 modules and set your screen cap softwares affinity to run off the 3rd module.
make sure your capping at variable fps and you havent capped it in the screen cap softwares prefs.

Also, you have a Kepler gen card there. I would advise you to try using ShadowPlay as the built in H.264 encoder on the Kepler cards really make it the superior choice for recording :)

Thank you so much for this as it Significantly improved this condition.
My question is, Do i have to do this everytime i want to record ? Or is this setting saved ?

P.s. It still gives me surprisingly low FPS when i record. I dunno what its because of. i expected to max out MW3 which recording with no less than 60 FPS. But it still Dips alot and isnt even a constant 60.

Minecraft while recording rocks 100+ but for some reason on the Action! Fps meter it dips down to 50-60 but on the MSI Afterburn onscreen monitor, it is 100+ at all times but i still feel the FPS drop even tho it says 100+ on Afterburn.( I hope that made sense )

Thank you for your time!
