The Geforce GTX 650 requires a PCI-e 3.0 slot in order for it to perform at it's best.

Your MSI G31TM-P21 board has a PCI-e 1.0 slot, so although the above graphics card will certainly fit and work, it won't be able to perform to it's fullest capability, which will really be noticeable if you try to play the latest games.

In essence, you will be paying for performance that you can't take full advantage of.

So what would you recommend me to do ? Should I buy it, Or should I not ? I don't have enough money to change my motherboard. I have like $100, I thought of buying this VGA hoping to play games like Crysis 3 and BF4 at least in medium settings. If that will not work to it's fullest capability, what will ? Currently, I don't have a VGA. I only have a Core 2 quad processor, 4GB Ram, that MSI motherboard, 450W PSU. What should I buy then ?
Thanks.

I can't advise you on what card to buy or whether or not to buy the GTX 650.

I am not a gamer, I just give technical advice on compatibility based on my knowledge and/or research.

You should start a new thread, mentioning the performance issues I've pointed out if you use a PCI-E 3.0 card in a PCI-1.0 slot. A gaming enthusiast will be able to advise you better than me where that's concerned. Would be a good idea to mention those games you are hoping to be able to play so you don't waste your money on a new card, as the PCI-E 1.0 slot may be a significant bottleneck where gaming is concerned.

Thank you. I'll make sure to start a new thread. I don't know much about computer stuff, I just needed to know whether that card fits or not. But then again, I got a new problem. Anyway, thanks again. Cheers. :)
