Hello, Im danny and im trying to find out if its possible to install a HP Pavilion Entertainment PC laptop hdd with Windows vista on to a hp Pavilion g4-2029wm Notebook PC with windows 7 home premium installed, what I want to know is if I swap out the g4 HDD and install the vista HDD will it boot as vista? Do I need to change the bios in any way on the g4 to dual boot?[understand that im not trying to dual boot from the same hard drive with a partition] I already have it set up on the hp-g4 so that the first 5 seconds it boots(if possible) from USB, Then cd drive and lastly internal notebook hdd, but to boot the vista hdd as is will it run as vista? Will I get a bios blue screen error message? Do I have to chang the bios in any other way? Im pretty good with computers but like everyone I get stuck and need to resort to help, right now I have the hp-g4 programed for Windows 7 home premium and I have my restore disk and the reason I mention this is cause the original hp-g4 hdd(250gigabytes) has win 7 activated with my product key and I have another hdd (Hitachi 160 gigabytes sata) that I swapped with the original formated and win 7 installed and activated with same key not ask me why or how maybe my laptop read it as a new factory hdd and just whent along with it, but it worked for me and I swap them back and forth cause I use the main for school and adobe cs6 suite, and the spare for games like skyrim, minecraft and abunch more, but the reason I want to boot the vista hdd is cause the printer I have has all its drivers and the setup installation disk is only for xp and vista so I dont want to buy the win 7 disk id rather boot the vista since I got it, plus swapping rhe hdd on my laptop is super easy and hassle free, if anyone can help please answer back thanks
Cheers
