I have a windows 7 i the windows was preinstalled on the computer i do have a product key. My question is i am having problems with my windows start up. When starting it is showing as boot error, disk error or it is coming up start launch repair or windows normally. If I click on the launch repair it is freezing while doing this a screen flashes up and it restarts nothing is changes. If I click start windows normally it freezes on the starting windows screen. My computer will start after restarting it a few time. However I had a problem like this with this same computer exactly to the day and I took it to the computer store and they said they had switch the hard drive for a new one surely this cant be a yearly fix? Any help would be appreciated.
Many Thanks

Sarah,

When you turn the laptop or computer on, keep tapping the F8 key on the keyboard.
After a few seconds a menu will pop up on how you wish to boot windows.

If the problem has happened, after these such three cases.

1. After installing a windows driver, or windows update.
2. After installing a new bit of software.
3. if the computer was not shut down or was powered off unexpectedly
4. You may have a virus.

You have two options to select.
The first is last known good configuration.
If that fails to let windows load when selected.

Then on the next power up or reboot keep tapping F8 and choose the option of safe mode.

If windows loads, you next step is to choose system restore.
In there select a restore point based on the date or time stamp, where you know the laptop was, or booted ok in to windows without a problem.

Let it restore and it should boot fine into normal windows once complete.
