Before I upgraded to windows 8 my games played maxed in a full screen mode, but now when I try and play my games I get a lot of wavy lines on the screen unless I select windowed mode only on those games that let me, ECT... Skyrim, Supreme commander just to name a couple. What can I do to disable this and just play my games like when things were much simpler and what is it that causes this? Was this some evil plan from a programmer that got bored and just wanted to make things complicated? or is it that all companies are evil and always have to find better ways to make everyone miserable? If it isn't broke, then why fix it?
Not really just like windows 7, when you install windows 8.
It comes with it`s own set of basic Vga display drivers.
Once installed it is up to you to install the proper video drivers for your video card.
Based on its Brand. Amd, Nvidia, Or Intel. On the model number or version used.
Something you may not have done after installing windows 8. That is the cause.
Based on the graphics card in the system, or graphics chip set you should always go to the maker of it and download and install the latest driver for full support off there website. When running windows 8 just like with windows 7 ect.
Thats not a windows 8 thing, you just have a problem. Make sure you have the newest graphics card drivers installed.
But I have done all of the above for my AMD drivers (Two HD7770's at a gigs each) ad I still get this! AMD even has this auto detect hardware thing and I was installed automatically with my latest and when I went either to STEAM or my other games I get these wavy lines, mind you the game is playing just fine. I managed to resolve my Skyrim game But Istill have to play this windowed. I really just want this to end. Should I just use windows 7 again and lose all those windows 8 privileges?
