Gateway 3018 boot up issue

Hi there,
It doesn't even get to the windows screen. I'm not too good with computers, so I apologize in advance if I'll be using phrases that are not correct. It's the very 1st gateway screen, it says BOOT menu <F10>, BIOS Settings: <F2> and the intel celeron logo is on the top left screen

Alright, have you tried getting into the boot menu or the bios settings? If not try them. Preferably both. Do you get any beeps, those are very important and can nail down a problem quite easily.
Hmmm... Does it still freeze if you take the hdd out. (take it out while its off and try to boot)
