I'm getting a new gaming pc. Can't decide if i should go with intel i5 or amd fx.

Here are the two players:
AMD:
Fractal Design Define R4 Black Pearl
Cooler Master G650M, 650W PSU
AMD FX-8350 Black Edition
Cooler Master Seidon 120V CPU Kylare
Gigabyte GA-970A-DS3P, Socket-AM3+
Kingston DDR3 HyperX 1600MHz 8GB
MSI Radeon R9 290X Gaming 4GB GDDR5
Samsung DVD Writer, SH-224DB
Crucial M500 SSD 2.5" 120GB

INTEL:
Fractal Design Define R4 Black Pearl
Corsair CX 750M, 750W PSU
Intel Core i5-4670K
Gigabyte G1.Sniper Z87, Socket-1150
Crucial DDR3 BallistiX Sport 16GB KIT
ASUS GeForce GTX 770 2GB PhysX CUDA
Crucial M500 SSD 2.5" 120GB
Samsung DVD Writer, SH-224DB

Which on would be best for gaming, and possibly why? :)

That's a 290X. Even better.

I'd personally go for something like a 780 or 780Ti on the i5, but with a GA-Z87X-D3H board.

I wouldn't go for either of those PSUs. Coolermaster ones tend to be junk, and the CX series has poor quality caps. I'd look for a 550W+ one from the second link in my sig.

Also, stick with 8GB.

Where are you buying from? What's the budget?
