Weird internet connection problem, connected but no data

I have a lenovo ideapad Z580 and I have a weird problem when it comes to internet connection, it connects to the internet but no data will be received this is the same with wifi or an ethernet cable. It tells me that I am connected to my network and troubleshooting shows no problems, I'm not an IT wiz and have no idea whats wrong. The problem isnt permanent and comes and goes randomly. Sorry if this has been asked before, I have tried searching to see if someone else had the same problem but couldn't find any. Thanks

Since you didn't say, I'll assume your desktop and Xbox are behaving normally. That being the case it sounds to me like the problem (at least with the wired connection) is in the Lenovo. Have you tried re-installing the LAN driver? If that doesn't work I'd contact the OEM.
