Hi guys,

I'm planning to OC my FX 8350 past 4ghz, so i will be buying the well priced yet reliable Cooler Master hyper Evo 212, but i would ideally like to have an extra fan on the other side of the heat sink to get the desired "Push/Pull" effect.

Do any of you guys know where i can buy a second hyper evo 212 fan? Or should i just buy any old 120m?

Thanks, Blake.

That is a guide in this thread called Cooling Fan Roundup 2012. It'll show you the specs of recommended fans. I would get a fan with lower dBA if you want it to be quiet. I heard good things about Noctua fans.

I used a couple Corsair Quiet SP 120s on mine, worked great. They are quiet branded so they make hardly any noise at all, and perform great with good static pressure. The cooler master fan that came with mine didn't last long, but I was probably just unlucky lol. If you don't have the money to spend on high quality fans, any fan will do, but you may get a slight edge with a high quality fan set, which can really make the difference in some overclocks.

Thanks for the responses guys. I was just wondering, the fan on my stock CPU cooler, could i use that? Is it detachable and if so, is it even worth using? I heard the stock AMD cooler with the FX8350 is actually pretty decent, so perhaps the fan is worth a go?

thanks.

I would get a 120mm fan with low dBA for quietness. I think the stock AMD cooler uses a 90-92mm fan; so I'm pretty sure it's louder than the 120mm fan on the CM Hyper 212 EVO.
