I recently began to run out of room on my current HDD and found a great deal on a 2tb hybrid drive from Seagate. When I plug in the drive, my BIOS does not recognize it.
Things I have done so far:
-made sure it was not the sata cable by using it with my current drive, it worked
-made sure it was not the power cable by using it with my current drive, it worked
-used the cables connecting my current drive and only connected the new hybrid, it recognized it.
-switched the drive to a different sata slot on my mobo to ensure the sata slot was not broke.
when i have them both plugged in, they are both spinning up, so i know its getting power. My bios uses an autodetect feature and the sata slot is not disabled.
my setup:
-blue-ray player in sata 1
-current drive in sata 2
-new drive in sata 3 (tried 4)
-Mobo: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813135228
-current hdd: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136283
-new hybrid: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822178380
Thanks in advance for the support!
