I posted a build thread a few months ago, but the money for that project fell through. I have $1800US to spend. I would like to buy within the week.

I am a first time builder. I have a 1080p monitor at the moment which I'll be using for this rig. I will likely add a 2nd monitor in the future. I am looking at potentially overclocking the CPU and GPU, although I have no experience yet doing so. I would like the machine to be highly capable at gaming(max settings) and live streaming. I prefer to have an SSD OS boot drive. Here is my first attempt:

I am also curious if it's possible to put together a gtx 780ti build in this price range using comparable components. Would it even be worth it?

Solution
For streaming, you want to go with an FX 8350. The i5 and i7 are great for gaming, but streaming really benefits from the extra cores the 8350 has available. Additionally, MPEG4 x.264 2-pass encoding is very fast on the 8350, like the i7. And the cost will be similar to a good i5 build, just sub the parts list with An FX 8350 CPU + decent 990FX chipset motherboard, such as a Gigabyte 990FX UD3 Rev. 4.0 or UD5.

Gave you liquid cooling.

Went with a h87 board. Unless you plan to SLI a z87 is overkill.

Cheaper RAM.

Caviar BLUE HDD, since you are using a SSD. You can look into a 840 evo 250gb instead for more SSD storage.

780ti, and a highly OCd one at that.

More appropriate PSU.

Saved here and there to fit GTX780ti without compromising quality. However its overpriced, consider a GTX780.
