hi i wanted to know if a gtx 780 ghz edition is better than the 290x and if its worth buying, you can also give other suggestions thanks

I personally feel that if heat issue in R9 290x is done away it will be overall winner. Well that is my though then. Check these benchmark reviews to see that it is still R9 290x having upper hand overall.

Yup, faster but costs more. That's why i picked a R9 290.

GTX 780 vs R9 290x? i would pick 290x why? i have the same problem once when im building my new PC. i searched and searched a lot of references that sapphire R9 290x tri-x is better than GTX 780. low temp, low noise, and better when playing in high resolution . but if you want a cheaper one buy sapphire R9 290 tri-x it is cheaper and less consumption of power than 290x but still can perform better.
