So, I've been trying to make a cheap build, for about Rs.30k which is about $500
(Keeping in mind that $1=Rs.61)
Just wanted to ask, whether it might actually work, and if it wouldn't, what should I do to improve it.
I'm mainly looking for parts locally, so prices might be different from American parts.

Parts List (with links to local dealers)

Help would be greatly appreciated :)
I'm not looking to push ultras on games at 1080, doubt this will be able to handle that.
This is aimed more at 720, or if possible, 1080 at med-high settings if possible.
Also, I'm not considering this with future proofing at all, just something that can hold out for some time. (I have a horrible laptop, and almost anything is an upgrade over that)

I play stuff like dota2, rift, bf3, and singleplayers like tomb raider, sleeping dogs, broderlands2 every so often.

Your build is very much on a budget. What you want to do here is focus on a good graphics card first. For a gaming budget build, the primary CPU you should be looking at is an AMD Athlon ii x4 quadcore processor. This can be the 740, the 750 or the 760. 750 would be preferred here. So now you're to focus on your graphics card. What you want to do is look at other parts (Like mobo, HDD, PSU) which are reliable and not junk, yet available for a good price so you can safe the right money for your graphics card.

For a budget build like yours a Radeon HD 7750 would be ideal, but a Radeon HD 7770 would be better. The performance you would get for games like Tomb Raider and Sleeping Dogs would be okay, but not great.

GT620 is not for gaming, Not 100% sure, but there is a good chance that the A8 integrated graphics is almost that good.
I'd suggest the following changes:

CPU: Intel Pentium G2020

MB: Gigabyte GA-H61M-S1

Video: Sapphire 7770
http://www.flipkart.com/sapphire-amd-ati-hd-7770-1-gb-gddr5-graphics-card/p/itmd7tgzhnsn39yr?pid=GRCD7TGZHNSN39YR&srno=b_1&ref=8785c547-41a9-4881-871a-bffcca949102

The video is a good deal. For the CPU you can go with Athlon x4 (740-750-760) as RCFProd suggests but it seems to be hard to find in India.

Yeah, I can't seem to find the athlon x4 anywhere, so I'll go for the pentium.

Since I won't be using an APU type, should I go for this as the ram instead?
Corsair DDR3 4 GB (1 x 4 GB) PC RAM (CMX4GX3M1A1600C11)

Going to go for the sapphire 7770. :)

Updated build Cost- Rs. 30,447 (approx $499.13) [My happy face here]

As I said, I currently have a hopeless laptop, and so I play bf3 at 320x240, minimum settings at 7 fps average..
My standards have been greatly lowered :p

PS: Tightened my belt, saved up some cash, now making a $1000 build.. My relieved face here :D
Thanks for all the help btw, I appreciate it :)
