depends on what you want to do, gaming on med to high, yes, ultra no. Running windows on 1080p yes. Your processor will hold you back however.

if 2k gaming means 1440p, a gtx480 will handle 1440p gaming no problem. you wont be able to run ultra settings and you cannot use high levels of A, but it will work fine on medium/high settings.
when i bought my 1440p korean knock off a friend of mine got one too and he has my old gtx570. the 480 and 570 are very close in performance.

Are you sure your Korean knock off monitors are actually running at true 1440p? They may just say that on the box.

a GTX480 can easily cope with 1080p, my GTx470 was doing 2048x1152 on BF3 with ease at high settings. I do not understand why people hear are saying that it can't. Your dual core is an issue when gaming.
