I would like to keep the system under $1,200, no monitor no software. It will be on a 55" LED TV, so I would only need to max out 1080p

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/35OqR

Intel Core i5-4670K 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor
ASRock Z87 Extreme4 ATX LGA1150 Motherboard
G.Skill Sniper Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1866 Memory
Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive
EVGA GeForce GTX 770 4GB Video Card
Fractal Design Define R4 (Black Pearl) ATX Mid Tower Case
XFX ProSeries 750W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply

Comments/questions:

Is that case ok? I don't want to go full tower and would even prefer something smaller

Is PSU ok?

Is it better to get 1 stick of RAM for gaming?

Is 770 GPU overkill for 1080p, should I get 760?

I'm open to any changes/recommendations. TIA

BOOM! Similar price got you a 780, better cpu cooling, a case with better cooling and also an amazing CPU.

Solution
In my opionion, if you are spending $1,200 on a pc, spend a little more and get the black version of that Western digital drive. The black version is faster.

Also, for 1080p gaming, anything beyond a 770 is really going to be overkill. You'll just be asking for tons of screen tearing or forced to use laggy v-sync all the time.
Some might say that a 780 will make it so you don't have to upgrade for an extra year or two, but with the price difference between the 770 and the 780, you will have half the money you will need in order to upgrade in 5 years to much better technology.

As for RAM, you want to run it in pairs, so either 2 or 4 sticks. 8-12GB of RAM is perfect. More than 12GB is useless for modern day gaming.

Thank you for pointing out the 780, I think I will keep that change and the PSU.

The only reason I really like the Fractal case I choose is because it is all black and it will be visible so I wanted to keep it very simple and all black so it's not an eye sore to my guests (and wife lol). Are there any cons to that mid-tower case? Will everything fit ok?

in bf4 with everything enabled the 770 is pulling around 50fps or so. Sure thats very playable, but it's getting borderline. The next batch of high end games in a year will make a 770 struggle. So a 780 will be nice. Now that there is the 780ti, titan black and 790, the 780 is becoming almost a bargain, sub $500.

Fractal design is a well known maker and a quality one too. The cooling isn't on par with that corsair, but other than that it is very high quality.
