im building my first gaming/high performance computer and would appreciate it if you guys take a look at it and give me any opinions or advice. im currently planning for the future. going to trying out overclocking and sli/cf

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/35DPF

i plan on getting my gpu a bit after i build it as i hear the i7 ig is good enough for basic games like league and everything else thats not there i plan on using old ones from a old computer for the time being.

Thanks!

nice build :D  now for your gpu, i would go with a single 780, 780Ti, or R9 290X. and if you want to xfire or sli, thats fine too, but is only beneficial if you either use a multi monitor setup or want to play at a higher res than 1080p.

Enough for basic games? It is more than enough for future games and if it is only for gaming an i5 would also be enough and you can get a better GPU later or to get a SSD or anything else. The RAM is also for work and not gaming. Do you need it also for work?

i agree, that for gaming you only need a high-end i5 and put the saved money into a better gpu.

can you explain your changes? the case has the room for the bigger h110 so i figured bigger is better and why the corsair ram? the tridents are 2400 and a tiny bit cheaper and are red :)

i ment that the integrated graphics on the i7 is good enough for basic games until i decide on a gpu. i hear that 1600-18xx is the best range but the 2400 was only like 15-20$ more and were a lot more popular so i figured id go with them. i like to have alot of stuff open at once like 100+ tabs in firefox, skype and mumble, play games while gf watches something on the tv that im hooked up to, so i figured the i7 would be worth it since i like to do multiple things

Get 1600~1866 RAM you won't notice even on hardcore usage, so i think it's not worth the money :)

if you want to do all that, then you should get like 16gb of 1833 ram or faster. and the integrated graphics with i7 are ok for light gaming, yes.
