using headphones and mic at the same time

so i have a desktop computer, and in the front headers i have one green speakers out, and one mic in.
i wanna use apple headphones that have a mic and headphones in one jack, i wanna use them for skype but i need the audio out, and the mic in.
i can only plug them in one of the jacks, but then i only have audio, or only mic.
so how do i use apple headphone with a desktop computer ????

I'm not 100% sure if this would work, but you could try plugging two jacks into the headphone and microphone ports, then combine them together with a small device and then use the Apple earphones. I'm not too sure what they're called, but you can find them on eBay for like $5. It's basically a small device with two 3.5mm jacks on one end, and one 3.5mm jack on the other. I use them for combining the left and right component stereo cables to connect to my headset from things like my television.

The last answer is exactly right use the split and plug in only one of these.. The only thing is with an HP it's wired backwards on some units... Lol. I actually use this to run a Blue Yeti on two devices.
