When I installed windows, I suspected Win 8.1 just installed thecorrect chipset, but I'm getting FPS drops in game, and Graphics drivers are not the problem.

My MOBO is an ASUS M5a99FX R2.0 Pro fitted with an 8350. Bios Version: 1708 4/10/2013

Notice: I don't want to update my BIOS, everything connects and operates, so that is not my issue

I want to know how I can check which Chipset driver I have installed and if it is sufficient, or if I should look into installeing one?

Download drivers from there. If you already have current drivers it won't do anything. I have never used AMD processors so I am not sure if something needs to be done but I always download/update the Intel chipset/processor drivers in windows 7/8 with the intel utility. If you do not need the update it will cancel and tell you that.

So here is my MOBO's Site at Asus.com:

https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/M5A99FX_PRO_R20/#support

Under "Drivers & Tools", is a drop down bar for Bios and other drivers/software.
I am in Windows 8.1 64bit build 9600. Theres no chipset download for Windows 8.1 for the MOBO. The Disk mine came with only says Windows 8 ready, and I ordered it before 8.1 was even out yet (my box doesn't say 8.1 ready like the picture, and this is MY MODEL, just older installation dis)

How can I check what windows installed when I set it up, or if it setup at all. I don't really want to use a windows 8 chipset if 8.1 installed its own. How can I find what version I'm in?

I'm also on whatever BIOS my motherboard came with, should I leave that alone or update now that I'm on Windows 8.1. THAT is what I want to avoid, installing BIOS and possibly bricking my board. I DON'T wasnt Asus's software on my PC, and that's the only way I can update BIOS.
