so basically i bought a pc to play bf4 on ultra settings (as i'm pretty much all for eye candy). I was led to believe that graphical performance came down to graphics card and processor. However when i compare my video results to benchmarks on youtube with the same graphics card i seem to get significantly lower results and the fps don't seem to stay at a constant level. Is it only those two components that affect graphical performance or do other ones do too?

My PC Specs:
Processor (CPU) Intel® Core™i5 Quad Core Processor i5-4670K (3.4GHz) 6MB Cache

Motherboard ASUS® H81M-C: Micro-ATX, LG1150, USB 3.0, SATA 6GBs

Memory (RAM) 8GB KINGSTON DUAL-DDR3 1600MHz (1 x 8GB)

Graphics Card 3GB NVIDIA GEFORCE GTX 780 - 2 DVI, HDMI, DP - 3D Vision Ready

Power Supply CORSAIR 650W VS SERIES™ VS-650 POWER SUPPLY

Solution
Have you downloaded the latest Nvidia drivers from the website not from Geforce Experience, always from the website, if not remove the old ones first, delete everything Nvidia under control panel>uninstall programs and use a driver sweeper as well before downloading the latest ones.

erm playing on 100% at 1400x900 with a refresh rate of 75hz, seems to be locked to 75 fps max (vsync is off) but plummets really hard sometimes.

could the motherboard be an issue?

Awesome thanks for the info :D

So are you saying that a better motherboard is the way to go in this case if i want more fps out of this/ better stability?

Is it just BF4 fps drops, do you have any other GPU intensive games, do you get FPS drops on them, remember BF4 is buggy as hell and is not well optimized at all.

A qualified yes. If lack of cpu power is holding you back, then a Z87 motherboard will let you oc from 3.4 to the 4.0-4.5 range. You will want a cooler too.
A back handed way to see how sensitive your games are to cpu speed is to reduce the cpu speed a bit and see how you do.
go to control panel/power options/change plan settings/change advanced power settings/processor power management/maximum processor state/
set to 70% and see how you do.

It could be that BF4 is extremely badly optimized... does he get drops in other GPU intensive games?
