Just installed a Amd A10 6800k cpu to a newly installed Gigabyte ga-f2a88xm-hd3 motherboard and 8 gb Corsair Vengeance ram
I have the stock cooler which came with the CPU. I will be changing it cos it is horribly noisy.

CPU is running at default settings 4.10ghz. Tonight I decided to run Prime 95 to see how it would fare. I ran it for about 5 mins but the CPU temps showing in CPUID HWMonitor looked very scary indeed and shot up to 99c. Maybe I read it wrong but I chickened out and stopped the test in case I damaged something. Is it normal to go this high with Prime 95 default test?

Pics below of HW Monitor, with prime 95 running.

Well Prime95 stresses a CPU to it's max pretty much thus generating more heat, and a stock cooler won't keep up, like using a 4770k in prime95 with a stock cooler, it will overheat, I would not recommend using Prime95 all the time you have a stock cooler on, It may damage your CPU.
