Buying an Ultrabook - $2000 Budget

A friend of mine wants a new laptop and has gone with an Ultrabook. He has a budget of $2000 and wants to use it for work and other stuff. He wants it to:

Be 13inch
Come with an Intel i7 CPU
Have a 256 or 512GB SSD
Have at least 4GB RAM (8GB preferable)
Have a screen resolution of at least 1440P
Have at least 6-7hrs battery life
Be light to hold

He wants one soon. He looked at the ASUS Zenbook UX301, the Samsung Ativbook 9+ and the ACER Aspire S7, but they are over $2000.

The price has to be in AUD.

Based on your friends request, I think he might be interested in the laptop I am currently using:

13.3" HD+ display, i7 processor, thin, 8GB of RAM (for Windows 8, you will appreciate that), it's not the skinniest laptop on the market but it definitely isn't chunky and it comes with a 256GB SSD. I upgraded from a Surface Pro to the Yoga 2 Pro and for my purposes, it's fan-frickin-tastic. I have ripped most of my bluray collection to file and the HD video looks gorgeous on that display. The options to change the form factor on the fly is incredibly convenient (especially when travelling). I had to purchase an upgrade to Win 8 Pro so that I could join it to my work domain (which wasn't without complication - that god for Microsoft's chat support that can remote into your workstation, pretty awesome service in my opinion) but that was something I was expecting. The only things they could improve would be the weight and battery life but both of those elements are satisfactory. I guess they could also find a way of fitting in a dedicated GPU that uses Optimus technology to minimize battery life usage but that isn't important as a workstation. Keyboard feels nice as well and if you need to be able to use it stationary in the office, I hooked mine up to a Targus USB port replicator that gave me dual monitor support with ease.

Have him try it at his local best buy - I had to order that sku online to ship to the store because they only had the cheaper model in-stock but it was worth the $200 to get twice the storage, twice the memory and an i7 instead of an i5. Game, Set, Match...
