I'm having trouble with setting up a VPN connection to my Synology NAS using the Synology VPN server application. I have configured PPTP and given privileges to the account I am using to connect as well as turning on VPN pass-through for PPTP and forwarding TCP port 1723 to the internal IP of the Synology NAS but I cannot connect from outside my network. Inside it connects fine, but outside it sits at "Verifying username and password" and then times out. So I am relatively sure the Linksys router is not actually forwarding the VPN traffic even though its configured to do so.
Any ideas? Fimware is up to date on the router.
